Problem:  Leaks on exterior of black liquor storage chest onto existing pumping equipment is causing major safety concerns for maintenance personnel.

Constraints:  Chest contains 30 feet of black liquor during operations.  Black liquor is actively leaking through chest during repairs.

Solution:  Prepare all leaking crack surfaces to receive new quickset coating. Install a trowel applied rapid set flexible coating system compatible with black liquor.  Install a second coat over existing cracks to maintain waterproof integrity.  Coat the entire wall system as a preventive measure for future cracking.

OVERFLOW DYKE RETAINING WALL SYSTEM
Installation of form work on a 450 foot long chemical containment retaining wall.

Problem: Heavy rains and occasional spills push surface run-off into nearby river system.

Constraints:  EPA mandatory installation requirements.  10 degree Fahrenheit weather conditions.

Solution:  Provide engineering services to design wall system with a maximum 8 foot height to retain a full load spill.

PRIMARY CONTAINMENT REINFORCED GLASS COATINGS
Heavy fiberglass reinforcing system is installed onto back up mat system.

Problem:  Owner intends to fill existing steel tank with an aggressive chemical.

Constraints:  Base floor of tank does not have adequate slope for drainage.  Installation is required within a short time frame.

Solution:  Install a fiber reinforced sloped concrete base into tank bottom.  Install a five-layered, chemically resistant and temperature fluctuation resistant, liner system into tank.
